The scorching summer sun is here, and we all know what it calls for: a fun festival!
Set in the vibrant and lively neighborhood of Virginia-Highland, Summerfest is a summer event you surely don’t want to miss! It celebrates community and all things summer, from live music, great art, delicious food, and everything else this neighborhood festival has to offer. Witness and experience all this and more on June 10, 2023:
Kicking off the festival will be a 5K Road Race at 8:00 AM, will wind through the scenic streets of the Virginia Highlands, will feature electronic chip timing and is now an official qualifying race for the Peachtree Road Race.
There will be the Fine Art Market and Makers’ Market, where you can explore some of the best artwork from the finest artists in Atlanta! The Fine Art Market will showcase unique folk and fine art. Painting, photography, clay, metal, stone, wood, jewelry, glass, textiles, and mixed media will be available for purchase, as will specialized works in a variety of art mediums. Handmade items such as soaps, lotions, candles, pet items, plants, and delicious consumables such as nuts, chocolate, jams, honey, and more are available at the Makers Market. The two markets will be open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on June 10, 2023, so make sure to drop by!
Of course, this event is 100% kid-friendly, so your little ones can enjoy the Kidsfest open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, where they can participate in games, activities, and crafts!
There will also be local vendors who will provide a wide variety of food, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages to cool you as you enjoy the festival's events!
Of course, the Virginia-Highland Summerfest will not be complete without the highlight of the event: the music show! The Music Stage at John Howell Park will feature a variety of renowned local musicians as well as nationally acclaimed singer-songwriters. Perpetual Groove is this year's headliner!
