Celebrate the 4th of July in style at the Pied Piper Parade, Concert, and Fireworks!
If you want to celebrate the 4th of July in style with the whole family, the Pied Piper Parade, Concert, and Fireworks in Downtown Decatur is the way to go.
The Pied Piper Parade, complete with floats, wagons, and bicycles, winds through downtown Decatur in style. Gather your friends and family to ride, walk, or skate in this community parade - it's open to all and completely free! Neighborhoods and organizations are also encouraged to participate. Remember to bring your red, white, and blue — the more colors, the better! The parade begins at 5:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave. The parade will kick off at 6 PM.
Then, proceed to the community bandstand for a Concert on the Square and to stake out your spot on the lawn for the evening fireworks display! The annual fireworks show will be launched from the top of the DeKalb County Parking Deck, and all streets in the fallout zone will be closed for safety. Fireworks begin after dark, around 9 PM. You are advised to find a secure location to watch the 15-20 minute show.
