Atlanta Mission 5K Race to End Homelessness

Officials in Atlanta reported a 38% decrease in homelessness in their point-in-time count from 2020 to 2022. However, this still leaves thousands of people without shelter, so there's still work to be done.

Thankfully, the Atlanta Mission 5K Race to End Homelessness is back on February 18, 2023, for its 20th year. Atlanta Mission, which operates four shelter campuses in Metro Atlanta and Northeast Georgia, is the city's largest and longest-running provider of services to homeless men, women, and children. For over 20 years, the annual 5K race has raised funds to support homeless shelters across the city, with runners gathering together on a cold winter morning to run for the same cause.

This year's race will start at 8:30 AM at the Pemberton Place Greenspace. The race is one of the last Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifiers before the 2023 AJC Peachtree Road Race registration opens. However, you can also opt for the virtual race.

You can register here as an individual or team. Your race registration fee will cover one night of shelter and services for someone who would otherwise spend the night on the streets in the cold.

By the way, temperatures will be at an all-time low on race day! Luckily, you can get an exclusive 5K race sweatshirt when you raise $500 or more as an individual race participant. You can also create your own fundraising page and share it with your friends and family.
