Atlanta Science Festival

Science is and will always be fun!

Gone are the days of science being called “boring” because you’ll never fall short of fun and educational activities at the Atlanta Science Festival! From March 10 to 25, 2023, you’ll get to challenge the hypothesis that science isn’t fun. Now back in its 10th year, it’s got more experiments and engaging activities for science lovers of all ages.

Kick off the festival with Destination Science, wherein three incredible scientists will demonstrate the incredible places science can take you. Moderated by Molly Samuel of WABE, it’s a total experience where you can travel from the Australian reefs to the African bush to the northern glaciers!

The second day, March 11, will be a jam-packed day. There will be the Geocaching Adventure, a treasure-hunting game in which players use GPS technology and a smartphone app to locate containers known as “caches” marked by coordinates at various locations around the world.

There will also be the KIDS Club and STEAM Workshop, where participants can dabble in computer science and art integration, engineering challenges, robotics, and more. It’ll be a day filled with programming that encourages students to study and pursue careers in STEAM fields by engaging them in various hands-on STEAM activities that promote creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Of course, to make the day even more fun, you can dress as your favorite superhero! Even superheroes love science, which is what Superhero Science Day is about. Here, you can experience hands-on programming and investigate everything from bioluminescence for Ms. Marvel to aerodynamics when building Wonder Woman’s jet.

These are all just scratching the surface of all the fun activities that will happen throughout March! For more information, you can visit the Atlanta Science Festival website.

The Atlanta Science Festival is an annual celebration of metro Atlanta’s world-class learning and STEM career opportunities, with 150 engaging events for curious kids and adults at venues throughout the region.
