Atlanta Dogwood Festival

It’s Atlanta’s staple event for a reason!

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival commemorates the annual blooming of the city's native dogwood trees. For over 80 years, it has been filling Midtown Atlanta's Piedmont Park with live music, arts and crafts, food booths, and family-friendly activities. It was even ranked No. 35 in Sunshine Artist Magazine's list of the top 200 fine arts festivals in the United States in 2012 – a staple indeed!

The festival features nearly every type of art imaginable, including a nationally renowned-juried Fine Artist Market with sculpture, paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography, and much more. Over 200 artists from across the country participate in 12 different categories, including painting, glass, clay, wood, and mixed media. The Atlanta Dogwood Festival Artist Market features some of the country's best painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metal craftsmen, glass blowers, and more. Fun fact: did you knows that the Artist Market was ranked #23 on Sunshine Artist Magazine's list of the Top 200 Best Art Shows in the Country in 2018? It also landed on #42 on Art Fair Source Book's list of Best Fine Arts Shows! Just a quick reminder for festival goers: the Artist Market closes at 7 PM, so explore and shop 'til you drop!

In addition to fine art for adults and art collectors, there is a Kids Village with arts and crafts, interactive make and take activities, face painting, and other activities for children of all ages. Throughout the festival, sponsor booths offer everything from live radio remotes to great prizes and interactive games. Another highlight of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival is the U.S. Disc Dog Southern Nationals, a world-class competition that features the best Frisbee dogs in the country.

Of course, we’re not forgetting the music! Music has become a staple of the weekend's festivities, and this year will be no exception! Throughout the weekend, a wide range of musical offerings, from bluegrass and country to rock and soul, will fill the springtime air. For three days, the Coca-Cola Main Stage will feature music from a variety of genres. Hundreds of performers representing Atlanta's global communities will appear on the Main Stage this year as part of the International Stage programming. The International Stage programming celebrates Atlanta's diversity by featuring everything from dancing to singing to a variety of other activities.

If you suddenly get hungry during the festival, don’t worry - there will be lots of food options to keep your stomach filled and ready for a day of fun! Enjoy your favorite festival foods, like funnel cakes, gyros, crab cakes, onion rings, and kettle corn!

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival suggests a minimum donation of $5 per participant, as these will help keep the festival alive for more years to come.
