Black Nativity: A Gospel Christmas Musical Experience

The holiday bells are ringing louder than ever as Christmas approaches; if anything, we could not be as excited as everyone else! One of our favorite things to look forward to is the festive music. It sparks a different kind of joy that brings a spring to your every step and makes everything look and feel better.

Time to deck the halls with boughs of holly with a progressive musical re-telling of the Nativity story during the Black Nativity: A Gospel Christmas Musical Experience!

Black Nativity is an African-American interpretation of the Nativity story based on a song play written by acclaimed African-American poet and playwright Langston Hughes. The play will begin on Christmas Day in a modern-day African-American church. It will be filled with testifying deacons, sanctified ladies, and down-home preaching. Also, it will recreate Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem, resplendent in African costumes, accompanied by a rousing repertoire of old-fashioned spirituals.

The African-American perspective creates a unique and entertaining theatrical experience in Black Nativity. This stirring re-telling of the Christmas story fills the theater with compelling voices, thrilling dance, spectacular costumes, and glorious gospel music.

The show will commence at Robert Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech on multiple dates starting from December 1-19, 2022.

Tickets are now on sale, starting at $37 only at the Georgia Tech website.
