The East Atlanta Strut is a free one-day event that strengthens neighborhood ties in the East Atlanta area. Live local music, an adult game area, an artists market, the famous Strut parade, a kids' village, neighborhood booths, food, and beverages all come together in this event!
This year, it will commence on September 24, from noon to six in the evening!
You can Roll Through the Strut, Strut Your Street, Strut Your Art or Business, Strut Your Talent, become a sponsor, or just stroll about the neighborhood to see what's happening. Of course, you can also volunteer for the event.
There are centers of activity in each of the neighborhood's four mascot areas: Rooster, Dragon, Peacock, and Llama. Strut organizers will use maps, signs, and hop-on/hop-off transportation to guide you to the action.
Since the Strut is a charity organization maintained entirely by volunteers, they aim to raise enough money to stage the festival and award grants to schools and charitable organizations. Attendees are encouraged to purchase $5 wristbands for the festival costs. Some events, like the VIP sampling at Strut Your Bake, could cost a few dollars. Still, the money will go to charitable organizations. Of course, this is all voluntary!
For everyone’s safety, the Strut advises participants to follow any CDC recommendations on Strut day and get vaccinated. After all, there is plenty of space to have fun safely because the event takes place outdoors and covers 16 square miles.
