Bid adieu to summer the fun way!

Summer hits differently in Atlanta, just by the long list of events and activities during this time. Now that the hot summer days are coming to an end, why not end it the best way we know? You got it right – by having a ton of fun at the Summer Shade Festival!

For almost two decades, Atlanta’s art and music enthusiasts have participated in this event at the historic Grant Park on August 26-27, from 10 AM to 10 PM! The two-day in-town festival is organized and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy. The event features a wide range of regional and local artists, food vendors, and musical entertainment.

What makes this festival even better is that everything is FREE, from admission to the entertainment! The outdoor festivities include an artist market, food trucks, craft beer, a Kids Zone, and an ever-expanding music lineup. You can also purchase tickets (or an unlimited activity wristband) for your children to enjoy the bungee trampoline, obstacle course, giant slide, or toddler's playland.

For all the foodies out there, traditional festival foods such as corn dogs and funnel cakes will be available, as well as healthier options such as chopped salads and frozen yogurt.

Before you have the most fun at the Summer Shade Festival, we’d like to leave you with a few reminders:

• On the festival grounds, dogs are not permitted. You know the drill — it's an Atlanta permitting requirement.  Please do not bring any kind of pet and expect the rules to bend for you.
• Outside alcohol is not permitted, but adult beverages can be purchased on-site.
• As the weather is expected to be hot, there will be several free water stations located throughout the park. You can also cool off by visiting one of several misting tents.
