Flowers do more than spice up a room or emphasize a grand gesture of love. Having flowers around you has a long-term effect on your mood, lowering your chances of developing stress-related depression. Flowers also boost positive energy levels and evoke a strong feeling of relaxation, calmness, and safety. Fortunately, the long, cold winter months have passed, and spring is in full bloom!
With spring comes a full rainbow of colorful and beautiful flowers and the Atlanta Blooms! at the Atlanta Botanical Garden is back again for yet another season! Fill your eyes with the beautiful sights of daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths, tulips, and more throughout the early spring months of March and April.
Divided into two events, this celebrates the beauty of spring as it unravels in Atlanta, starting with a fun, educational session for your little ones! The Sprouting Scientists, happening on March 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, is the perfect chance for your kids to unleash their inner Einsteins. They can run through the spring flowers, listen to bird songs, and play at hands-on learning stations. These activities are inspired by the sculptures featured in Thomas Dambo’s Trolls: Save the Humans, who have come to the Garden to help children connect with nature. This event is co-sponsored by the Atlanta Science Festival.
The activity stations start with the Sounds of Spring, where the kids can tune in to the sounds of the Garden, like Sofus Lotus troll. They will also learn to make their own wind chime and experiment with various instruments made from plants from all over the world. Next is the Botanical Bliss, where they will learn to plant seeds and garden like Rosa Sunfinger. Lastly, there’s the Garden Friends station, where they can investigate the fascinating world of animals living in the Garden, like Ibbi Pip troll!
The second event, Garden Party, will commence on March 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This is Atlanta Botanical Garden’s official kickoff event for spring, so expect a ton of fun, live music, food, and drinks as you revel in the wonders of spring and the beauty of flowers. There will also be flower-arranging demos for everyone to enjoy!
